The STD2 Series is a commercial and industrial hybrid that is Mars Air System's most popular energy-saving series. It features a 1/2 horsepower power motor(s) that is louder and stronger than the LoPro but is ideal for a multitude of customer-facing and industrial applications. Suitable for heights up to 10-12 ft (ETL Sanitation rated for 7 ft heights.) The standard color on all models is Obsidian Black and heated options are available. Notes: All Mars Air switches are non-returnable. All STD2 (1) motor units up to 48ā are shipped with the Motor Fan Assembly (MFA) factory installed insidethe air curtain housing. For all other models, the MFA are shipped loose to minimize freight damage.

Is this air curtain design for the exterior as well?
Mars Air curtains are highly dependent on application. Further details below to keep in mind: - Installation Location (indoor entry door, exterior service/back door, garage/dock entry, drive-thru window, dish drying room, walk-in box, etc) - Width and Height of the Opening - What you're trying to combat (insect protection, wind blockage, Heat/AC escaping) - Type of door and how you're wanting it installed (any switches so it turns on/off with the door opening, special mounting gear, control boards, linking multiple curtains together, etc.) Also, the STD242-1UA-OB should be fine to use outdoors if it is covered by an overhang or awning that doesn't allow rain or snow to get to the unit. However, in windy areas, the air curtain may not be as effective outdoors as it would be indoors. Anything that would disrupt the downward force created by the air curtain, such as wind or physical blockages, makes the air curtain less effective against bugs, temperature differences, or wind blockage. Typically in windy outdoor situations, the more powerful units are more effective but are noisier when running.
